The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services for the community.

SASSA will be rendering providers such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency reported it can be alarmed with regard to the substantial range of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The purpose in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a substantial range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“That is mainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no entirely functional office devoted to service the area every day. The support position designed for intervention encounters a substantial influx of prospective beneficiaries, which makes it complicated for the Workplace to attend to all people who check out a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional methods to allow the servicing of SRD all shoppers and increase access to Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
